Vanessa Lee Carlton is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame after releasing her two times Grammy nominated debut single "A Thousand Miles" in 2002. The song quickly became the soundtrack of coming-of-age moments and graduations worldwide and peaked on international top charts. After multiple, less commercially successful but nonetheless well received albums, the singer-songwriter took a break from releasing music, moved to Nashville with her husband, Deer Tick frontman John McCauley, and worked on transforming her sound. With the help of British producer Steve Osborne and the direction of her friend and collaborator Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) she crafted a more mature, indie sound. Carlton's upcoming full length album, "Liberman" will be released in October.
